Each one has a small space in the middle for a tea light. They feel solid in the hand and have a much more natural look than a plain glass or metal holder.
When they are not lit, you mainly see the pink colour of the salt. Once a tea light is burning inside, more orange starts to show through the heart.
The light does not always come through evenly. One part may look brighter while another stays a little darker. That is simply down to the salt itself.
As you get two in the set, they work nicely as a matching pair. They could be used on the same table or placed at either end of a mantelpiece.
Do not expect the two hearts to be exact copies of each other. The shade of the salt can differ and there may be small lines or marks on the surface.
For cleaning, there is not much involved. Let the holder cool first and then wipe away any dust with a dry cloth.
Try to keep the salt away from water and damp areas.
The Heart Shape From Different Angles
The heart is most obvious when you look down at the holder from above.
From the side, you notice more of the thickness of the salt and the opening for the candle.
That gives the holder a slightly different look depending on where it is placed.
