Himalayan Salt Tea Light Holder

This is a solid Himalayan salt holder made for a tea light candle.

There are no cables or electrical parts involved. Put a tea light into the opening at the top and the candle does the rest.

What I like about this type of holder is how simple it is. During the day it looks like a small piece of rock salt. Light the candle and the flame becomes partly hidden inside the salt rather than sitting completely out in the open.

As the candle burns lower the appearance changes again. More of the light sits inside the holder and comes through the salt around it.

For Tables and Smaller Spaces

This is the sort of candle holder that does not need much setting up.

You can bring it out for dinner or use it when you have friends over. It also works well when you only want one small candle rather than a larger candle display.

A standard tea light can be replaced once it has finished. That means the salt holder itself can be used again with a fresh candle.

How the Tea Light Sits Inside

The candle sits down inside the opening rather than resting right on top.

That means you see less of the little metal tea-light cup once the candle is in place. Most of what you notice is the flame and the salt around it.

As the Candle Burns Down

The look changes a little as the tea light gets lower.

At the start, the flame sits higher in the opening. Later on it drops further inside the holder as the wax burns away.

This can make more of the candlelight show through the salt around the sides.

Changing the Tea Light

Once the candle has finished, wait until the holder and metal cup have cooled down.

The empty tea-light cup can then be lifted out and replaced with a fresh one.

There is no need to replace the salt holder itself each time.
